End Grain Brick-Pattern Cutting Board — Masonic Inlay
Built brick by brick, as the Craft itself
$145.00
The most labor-intensive piece in the Masonic line — an end grain cutting board built in a true brick-and-mortar pattern, with each "brick" cut from end grain hardwood and separated by thin maple courses that read as mortar lines. A Square and Compasses inlay in solid maple sits flush at the top, cut into the field rather than applied to it.
End grain construction means the knife edge slips between the wood fibers rather than across them — the board is gentler on blades and self-heals over years of use. Layered into a brick pattern, the build also nods to the operative origins of the Craft: stone laid upon stone, each piece fit to the next, the whole made strong by the joining.
Crafted by a fellow Mason (Trenton Cyrus Lodge No. 5, F. & A.M. of New Jersey). A piece worthy of a Past Master's mantel, a 50-year Brother's recognition dinner, or a Worshipful Master's installation. Custom Lodge numbers, names, raising dates, and alternate emblems available on commission.
